Even in your hobbies, passion doesn’t mean you won’t suck at it. I’ve been studying a martial art for over a decade. I sucked. I sucked balls. It took years to get to mediocrity. I wanted it bad enough and stuck with it, but if I had been that bad at something I was trying to do for pay, I’d have starved.
I REALLY wish someone had told me this about 30 years ago.
